Early morning fire causes $50k in damage to Ogden home

OGDEN, Utah, July 10, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews responding to an early morning house fire Tuesday were able to get the fire under control and shut down quickly.

The call of a structure fire at 3357 Quincy Ave. came in at about 2:37 a.m.

According to Ogden Fire Department on Twitter, crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the home. They made entry and had the blaze extinguished within minutes.

“All Clear and Loss Stop benchmarks declared at 2:56 am.,” the tweet said.

Crews ventilated the home and remained on scene to perform salvage and overhaul.

There were no injuries in this fire, and the displaced residents are being assisted by the Red Cross.

Officials estimated damage to the home at $50,000.

OFD said the incident is being investigated by the office of the Ogden City Fire Marshal, and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
