Eastbound I-215 South closed at State Street in Murray due to crash

MURRAY, Utah, Oct. 21, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Eastbound I-215 South is closed at State Street in Murray due to a crash involving a pedestrian.

The closure is at mile post 20, said a tweet from UDOT Traffic at noon; the freeway is likely to reopen at approximately 2 p.m.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cameron Roden told Gephardt Daily the victim, who is a male, is in extremely critical condition.

The incident was a suicide attempt, Roden added.

One vehicle was involved in the crash, he said.

Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and find alternate routes.
