DRAPER, Utah, July 23, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Investigators are on the scene of a fatal house fire in Draper.

According to Draper Fire Chief Clint Smith, firefighters were called to the home at 13923 S. Arrow Creek Road about 12:45 a.m. Tuesday.

When first responders arrived, they found a two-story log home engulfed in smoke and flames.

Fire crews quickly determined there were five people living the home, including a husband, wife, two children and an elderly grandmother.

Smith said everyone made it out except for the grandmother, whose body was found inside the house.

The 6-year-old suffered burns and smoke inhalation. He was flown by medical helicopter to Primary Children’s Hospital in critical condition.

Smith said a police officer and firefighter were transported to Lone Peak hospital where they were treated for heat exhaustion.

The names of the victims have yet to be released.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Gephardt Daily will update the story as more information becomes available.
