SUGAR HOUSE, Utah, Oct. 26, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Streets in Sugar House were evacuated due to a large gas leak Wednesday afternoon, according to the Salt Lake City Fire Department.

Warnock Avenue was evacuated from Elizabeth Street to Highland Drive, which is the area of 1100 East, SLCFD tweeted at 2 p.m.

The tweet continues: “With gas migrating underground and via sewer, Capt. [Tony] Allred is expanding evacuations. Please avoid the area of Wornick Ave. near 1100 East.”

At 4:20 p.m. the fire department tweeted all fire department crews were clear from the area, but Questar Gas remained on scene for repairs.

An hour later, all evacuations were lifted.
