SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – September 29, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) –
Kate Kelly, the human rights attorney recently excommunicated by the LDS Church for insisting women be allowed into the priesthood has joined forces with Planned Parenthood of Utah.
The firebrand attorney, co-founder of the group Ordain Women, joined the organization’s in early September, just as it prepared to file suit against Utah Governor Gary Herbert for blocking the state’s distribution of federal funds earmarked for Planned Parenthood of Utah.
On Tuesday, the same day U.S. District Judge Clark Waddoups issued a restraining order suspending the governor’s cash blockade, Kelly took time to speak exclusively with Bill Gephardt – about her decision to support Planned Parenthood, and the role the organization has played in her life.
