KAYSVILLE, Utah, May 31, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A swiftly moving fire engulfed a Kaysville home and sent one man to the hospital Tuesday morning.

Lt. Paul Thompson, Kaysville City Police, said officers were dispatched to a home at 1610 E. Bedford just before 10 a.m.

“Multiple neighbors called in saying they could see smoke coming from the home,” Thompson said.

“When our officers arrived the home was already fully engulfed. Firefighters arrived shortly after, and were able to contain the fire.”

Thompson said one man was injured but they were not releasing information on his condition.

Part of the home was destroyed, as was a vehicle inside the garage. Thompson said he was not sure of the condition of the rest of the home, and whether residents will be displaced.

The cause of the fire is unknown, and arson investigators are on scene. No estimate on the cost of the damage is available.
