WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, March 31, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Both directions of Redwood Road in West Valley City are closed after a fatal rollover accident Sunday afternoon.
The West Valley City Police Department tweeted at 4:30 p.m. that the crash occurred at 3696 S. Redwood Road.
The victim in the fatal rollover has been identified as 76-year-old Richard Alan Learned, of Sandy, WVCPD tweeted at about 7:25 p.m.
Learned was partially ejected when his SUV was hit by a passenger car and rolled.
The driver of the passenger car has minor injuries. The two drivers were the only people in the vehicles, the tweet said.
Accident investigation and reconstruction is still underway, the later tweet stated.
Both directions of Redwood Road are closed from 3800 South to 3500 South and drivers are being urged to avoid the area.
