Fatal Accident on SR-6 Claims The Lives of Two Utah Men
CARBON COUNTY. UTAH – May 7, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – A 2004 Nissan Sentra traveling west bound on SR-6 near milepost 251 crossed over two lanes of travel and hit a 2006 Chevy HHR head on, killing both drivers, on Thursday at around 5 a.m.
The Nissan had been already reported to police by a semi truck driver prior to this incident for stopping and erratic driving just west of I-70. The driver of the Nissan, who sustained fatal injuries has been identified as Calvin J Sutherland, 32, of Draper.
The driver of the HHR who was also killed in the accident has been identified as Michael J. Jensen of Wellington.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and there were no other occupants in either vehicle. The exact cause of the accident and any impairments are still under investigation at this time.
SR 6 was fully closed for about one hour and partially closed for an additional hour.
