FBI: Reward offered for info on armed, dangerous Colorado man with Utah ties, wanted after murder

SAN JUAN COUNTY, Utah, Dec. 24, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A Colorado man with ties to Utah’s Monument Valley is wanted by the FBI for the alleged murder of a juvenile.

The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office shared the FBI poster issued for Jeremiah Hight. The poster says a reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of suspect Jeremiah Hight.

Hight, 23, stands 6 feet tall and weighs 400 pounds, the wanted poster says. He is a Native American, and has black hair and brown eyes.

He is wanted in connection with the shooting murder of a juvenile killed on Dec. 11 on the Ute Mountain Ute Reservation, near Utah’s southeast border. It is near the town of Towaoc, a Census-designated place, a post office, and the capital of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe. 

The juvenile was shot in a targeted incident at a residence, the statement says.

A warrant for Hight’s arrest was issued on Thursday, Dec. 19.

Hight’s scars and body markings include a piercing in his left ear, a scar on his chest, and tattoos on his neck, back, chest, both arms and shoulders, and right leg.

The FBI poster says he is wanted for murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, discharge of a firearm, and additional violent crimes.

The poster says Hight should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information that would help the FBI find him is asked to call the FBI tipline at 800-Call-FBI, submit a tip at tips.fbi.gov/home, or call your local FBI office.
