Suspect faces felony aggravated kidnapping charge after victim escapes from Summit County residence

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah, July 5, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A suspect is facing felony charges including aggravated kidnapping and assault after a 45-year-old woman allegedly escaped from a Summit County residence Saturday.

Deputies responded to the report of a kidnapping at approximately 4:20 a.m., according to a news release from Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim escaped from a residence and telephoned 911, stating she had been tied up, duct taped, and assaulted for three days.

Deputies made contact with the victim and immediately transported her to the hospital for medical assessment. The suspect, identified as 47-year-old Jason Stone, was located by deputies and arrested without incident.

Stone was booked into the Summit County Jail on four felony charges including aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, witness tampering, and possession of a stolen vehicle. Stone is being held on $100,000 cash-only bail.
