Fire causes evacuation of 2 Ogden apartment buildings

OGDEN, Utah, June 5, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — An Ogden structure fire singed the exteriors of a large shed and two apartment buildings.

Crews were dispatched at 6:27 p.m. Tuesday to 982 Ninth St., and found flames on the three structures.

Thirty-five apartment occupants were evacuated for safety purposes, although the fire did not damage the inside of the buildings.

Twenty-one firefighters from Ogden City and South Ogden Fire Departments responded with three ladder trucks, two engines, one paramedic rescue, one ambulance, one Deputy Fire Marshal and the Battalion Chief.

No one was injured, and residents have not been displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the office of the Fire Marshal. Initial damage is estimated at $15,000.
