SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – June 3, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Brian Dale took his oath of office and was sworn in by Mayor Ralph Becker as Salt Lake City’s 21st Fire Chief this afternoon.

Chief Dale was hired by the Salt Lake City Fire Department in October, 1986, and has served the Salt Lake City community for nearly 30 years in a variety of roles, including firefighter, paramedic, Captain, Medical Division Chief and Deputy Chief.

Under Chief Dale’s direction while serving in the Medical Division, the Department implemented the first fully-automated Electronic Patient Care Reporting System (ePCR) for documenting patient care. Among his many contributions as Deputy Chief, he designed the Department’s new Medical Response Team (MRT). This service delivery approach uses two firefighters responding in a lightweight vehicle to less-critical medical incidents in the downtown core of Salt Lake City during the busiest hours of the day.
