DRAPER, Utah, Sept. 10, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Fire crews were called out to a late night report of smoke in a five-unit building at 12093 S. Alpine Trail Drive.

The owner of one of the townhome units noticed smoke at about midnight Friday and immediately dialed 911. Because the building houses multiple families, fire crews from Unified Fire Authority, South Jordan and Bluffdale responded.

UFA Paramedic Taylor Sandstrom said when firefighters entered the building, they found a small fire in the attic portion of the middle unit.

All of the building’s residents were safely evacuated, and only two of the residents have been displaced by the fire. They will be staying with family, Sandstrom said.

A total of 12 fire units responded and the fire was put out fairly quickly. Sandstrom said there were no injuries to any of the residents or firefighters.

Crews were still on scene at 4 a.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
