Fire crews’ quick response saves Plain City house

PLAIN CITY, Utah, Oct. 18, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — On Monday night, firefighters responded to a house fire on 2600 North in Plain City, where flames and smoke were seen coming from the attic.

A neighbor alerted the people in the home and all four occupants evacuated safely before fire crews arrived, said Plain City Fire Department spokeswoman Brandie Kilts.

The 911 call was received at 9:30 p.m., and firefighters had the flames contained within five minutes of their arrival.

A total of 17 firefighters responded from Plain City Fire Department, Northview Fire District and Weber Fire District.

Damage to the home was estimated at $20,000-$25,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
