Fire crews respond to Yellow Lake Fire in Wasatch County; camper evacuations ordered

WASATCH COUNTY, Utah, Sept. 29, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews are on the scene of a wildfire in Wasatch County.

The Yellow Lake Fire, located east and south of Yellow Lake Reservoir, has burned an estimated 1,500 acres of timber and downed timber in the Heber-Kamas Ranger District.

Resources at the scene include five fire engines, two helicopters and two fire crews, Utah Fire Info says.

“There will be an area closure put in place for public safety, all campers within the closed area are being asked to leave,” the Utah Fire Info statement says.

“The closed area boundaries are Mill Hollow on the west side, Highway 35 on north, Wolf Creek campground on east and Duchesne ridge on south. Smoke is visible from surrounding areas, please do not report.”
