KANE COUNTY, Utah, June 4, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The Kane County Fire known as No. MM49HWY89 is 15% contained, and fire crews are moving around the interior after securing the fire lines, a statement from Utah Fire Info.
The agency said the fire started near mile marker 49 of U.S. 89 Monday, about 15 miles east of Kanab. It stopped traffic in both directions, knocking out power in parts of Kanab.
Firefighters stop the spread at an estimated 150 acres.
“Firefighters will continue work throughout the day,” the Tuesday morning update says.
