OREM, Utah, Nov. 1, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Fire crews responded to a two-alarm house fire in the area of 700 South and 600 West on Monday night and arrived to find the structure fully engulfed in flames.

Orem Fire Battalion Chief Ryan Peterson told Gephardt Daily the call came in at about 11:20 p.m., and the fire was under control, but not yet extinguished, shortly after midnight.

“Everyone had evacuated,” Peterson said, “and there were no injuries to civilians.”

He said fire crews would be at the scene at least until 1 a.m.

Orem Fire Department later tweeted that six people were displaced by the fire, and the Red Cross was at the scene to assist. The house was a total loss, estimated at $300,000.

About 25 firefighters from Orem, Provo and Pleasant Grove worked to extinguish the blaze.
