SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 8, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Firefighters responded to reports of a home on fire Wednesday evening and doused the fire within minutes.

The Salt Lake City Fire Department responded to the scene at 652 S. 800 West.

“We arrived at a single-family residence and met the owner outside,” said Capt. Chad Jepperson, Salt Lake City Fire Department. “The occupants were all out of the building. There was a fire in the back bedroom, and they had two dogs in the building that we were able to rescue, mid-incident.”

About 30 firefighters and ambulance personnel responded, ” … and it was all contained in a matter of minutes,” Jepperson said.

The fire was contained to the bedroom, but smoke filled the house and did damage, Jepperson said. Windows were broken and a hole was made in the roof to release heat.

“(There were) no injuries to fire personnel or civilians, and both dogs came out unscathed.”
