SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, July 2, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — Firefighters responded to the scene of a commercial fire late Thursday morning in Salt Lake City.
Fire crews arrived at 2040 S. State St., the site of a former Sconecutter restaurant, which had been closed at some point.
Crews found flames coming through the roof of the structure.
“Defensive operations,” the Salt Lake City Fire Department tweeted at 11:57 a.m. Firefighters were battling the blaze from the outside rather than risk the safety of crews by sending them into an unstable building believed to be unoccupied.
