ESCALANTE, Utah, Aug. 4, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A flash flood warning has been issued Sunday afternoon for the areas around the Escalante River, including the town of Escalante.
“This flash flood warning is specifically for areas around Escalante including the town of Escalante, the Escalante River, Death Hollow, Alvey Wash, Calf Creek and other tributaries of the Escalante,” said a tweet from the National Weather Service of Salt Lake City.
The warning is in place until 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Individuals should avoid walking or driving through flood waters and hikers should immediately move to higher ground in the case of flooding, the tweet said.
