SOUTHWESTERN UTAH, Aug. 30, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Flash flooding is possible for southwestern Utah Tuesday afternoon and evening, officials said.

“A combination of a monsoonal moisture surge and remnant moisture from Nora will bring the threat of heavy rainfall to southwestern Utah Tuesday spreading north and east across much of Utah Wednesday, and potentially into Thursday,” said a tweet from the National Weather Service Salt Lake City.

“Right now, expect the flash flooding threat to be localized Tuesday afternoon and evening to the most prone locations.”

On Tuesday, flash flooding is possible in the St. George area.

“We are watching the moisture surge and how the models change with time to evaluate how widespread the flash flooding threat will be Wednesday,” a follow-up tweet said. “For now, there is a slight chance of flash flooding for much of southern Utah Wednesday afternoon and evening.”
