SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Jan. 7, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Sunday’s dense fog across Northern Utah has delayed and diverted flights to and from Salt Lake City.

More than 22 flights bound for Salt Lake City have been diverted since the fog laid in Sunday afternoon, several sources are reporting, and officials at Provo Airport told Gephardt Daily they’ve been extremely busy coordinating air traffic, as well as buses, to get travelers where they want to go.

Airlines are asking their ticket-holders to check for any delays due to the heavy fog, and all airlines with flights diverted from Salt Lake to Provo are arranging bus transportation to Salt Lake City.

Visibility at Salt Lake International was 0.12 miles at 8 p.m., according to Flightaware, which provides weather forecasts and other information relating to air travel around the U.S.

At 9 p.m., Salt Lake International was still experiencing departure delays of an hour and a half to an hour and 45 minutes, with longer delays expected.
