SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Virginia, May 31, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Law enforcement officers in Virginia are investigating the deaths of three former Utah residents found inside a Spotsylvania County, Virginia home Wednesday.
According to a statement by the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a home in eastern Virginia about 9 a.m. When officers arrived, they found Rachel Ozuna, 34, her partner, Michael Coleman, 39, and her son, Kyrrus Ozuna, 14, dead inside the residence.
Deputies also found an infant and a toddler inside the home, but both children were unharmed.
“This case has been officially ruled a homicide and the manners of death appear to be from a sharp instrument,” the sheriff’s statement said. “This investigation is still in the early stages and detectives are actively processing evidence and conducting interviews.”
Family members said Rachel and Kyrrus were originally from Mapleton, and had lived with Coleman in Spanish Fork before moving to Virginia.
A GoFundMe page has been established in victims’ name. A statement posted on the page reads as follows:
“On May 29th Rachel Ozuna, her partner Mike Coleman and her son Kyrrus Ozuna were found dead in their home in Virginia. Our families are completely devastated. No reason imaginable is reason enough for these three to meet their end the way they did.
“We know this isn’t much information. When we get more info, we’ll pass it along.
“If you’d like to help, we are trying to get their funeral arrangements together and getting Rachel and Ky home to Utah and would appreciate any help in covering those funds. We will update on this page as we go through this, please know that we are all ok, we feel the love and we appreciate all of you.
“We all lost today.”
