SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 21, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Four juveniles were taken into custody late Thursday morning after a brief police chase.

Detective Michael Ruff, Salt Lake City Police Department, told Gephardt Daily that the incident happened at about 11:30 a.m. when officers spotted a stolen vehicle suspected to have been involved in two robberies on Wednesday.

The driver fled, and, about 10 minutes later, lost control of the vehicle and crashed in the area of 400 North and 1100 West.

“The vehicle did lose tires and crashed, but we were able to capture those people, Ruff said. “Four were detained.”

Ruff said he believed the robberies on Wednesday were street robberies, and he called them aggravated, but declined to say what kind of weapon was used.

Any charges filed regarding the stolen vehicle or robberies would be filed in juvenile court, he said.
