Police seek public’s help identifying suspect in fraud investigation

WEBER COUNTY, Utah, May 30, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The Weber County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in an active fraud investigation.

A news release from the WCSO said multiple reports of fraud were reported in several cities in Weber and Davis County on May 20 and 21.

“The suspect had obtained multiple debit and credit card numbers which were then cloned and used at numerous ATMs at local banks and convenient stores to withdraw money,” the news release said.

One suspect, who was seen at numerous ATM locations, is described as a black man with facial hair and a buzzed haircut. The man was wearing a black and white shirt with a design and “08” on the front.

The suspect was captured on video at the ATMs, and detectives are attempting to identify him.
