MURRAY, Utah, April 4, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — The derailment of a freight train on Thursday morning delayed the commute for some many TRAX riders.

A 5:12 a.m. tweet from the Utah Transit Authority first alerted riders to the issue:

“Due to a freight train derail, there will be no TRAX service north of Fashion Place. A bus bridge has been activated to service stations from Fashion Place to Medical Center, SL Central and Airport.”

Another tweet noted that track-related issues were delaying trains in Davis and Weber counties.

Subsequent updates addressing the Murray derailment reported that TRAX service was functioning in many areas, but was delayed due to the derailed train remaining on the tracks.

An 8:10 tweet said delays in many areas had been reduced to 10 to 15 minutes.
