Gas leak closes street in Layton

LAYTON, Utah, April 16, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A gas leak in Layton closed part of Gentile Street in both directions Monday afternoon, officials said.

A tweet from Layton City said traffic is closed east and westbound on Gentile Street between Flint Street (100 West) and Angel Street (1200 West) due to the leak. Drivers are being asked to use Layton Parkway or Hillfield Road as alternates.

Emergency crews are working to determine the origin of the leak, which was detected by subsurface utility crews working in the area.
