OGDEN, Utah, August 5, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — On Saturday, the Ogden Police Department was warning the public to be aware of a scam fundraiser purportedly set up to help the children of Perry and Sarah Huffaker, one of two couples who died in a plane crash July 26.

The Facebook post from OPD and shared by the Weber County Sheriff’s Office states:

“SCAM WARNING:
Perry Huffaker, an Ogden City employee, and his wife were killed last week in a traumatic plane crash. They have four surviving children. An UNAUTHORIZED fund raiser has been set up under a gofundme page help-for-4. Please do not support this, it is a scam. If you would like to support the Huffaker Family please donate to the Huffaker Family at America First Credit Union.

The warning was shared on Facebook more than 1,900 times.

The help-for-4 page has since been removed from the GoFundMe website.
