SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah, Jan. 8, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — Granger High School posted a photo of a hospitalized student this week, offering “an update on one of the most fabulous miracles of the season.”
Granger student, Sha Reh, was critically wounded in a what police believe was a murder-suicide which claimed the lives of five family members inside their West Valley City home in December, 2024.
According to a Granger High School Facebook post, the teen is “recovering well” and will soon to be released from the hospital.
“Today, many of Sha’s teachers were able to visit him and presented him with a gift raised by the entire Granger staff. We’re so glad to see him doing so well! Lots of Lancer Love for Sha!”
Sha Reh, 17, is the only survivor of the tragic event which claimed the lives of his brother, Boe Reh, 11; two sisters, Kristina Ree, 8, and Nyay Meh, 2; mother, Bu Meh, 38; and father, Dae Reh, 42. Police have said the evidence indicates his father was the shooter, although the case is still technically under investigation.
Sha Reh also was shot, and gravely injured, but survived.
A GoFundMe account posted last month to help with funeral costs and Reh’s treatment says he is dealing with vision loss.
