GRANTSVILLE, Utah, Jan. 10, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A 20-year-old man who allegedly crashed his truck through a wall then fled the scene, leaving his injured passengers inside, has been located.

A news release from Grantsville Police Department said dispatch received a call at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday reporting a reckless driver in the area of Clark Street and Tiebreaker Drive.

When police responded, the driver fled and officers made the decision not to pursue.

Moments later, the truck crashed through a wall, rolled and came to rest against a parked car. Debris from the crash caused additional damage to the neighborhood.

The driver fled on foot from the scene, leaving his passengers in the vehicle. A female passenger was flown to a Salt Lake hospital and a male passenger was transported by ambulance, both with serious injuries.

Police said suspected driver Matthew Pike was later located in the area of 400 W. Main St. and was transported to the hospital to treat injuries sustained in the crash.

Once released from the hospital, Pike will be booked into jail on multiple charges.
