Man grazed by bullet in Salt Lake City shooting

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, June 27, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials said a man was “bruised” with a bullet in a shooting in Salt Lake City in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred in the area of 300 S. Foss St. (1525 West) just before 12:15 a.m., the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release.

“A man arrived in a vehicle and observed the occupants of two other cars having a conflict,” the news release said. “Somebody from one of the other cars fired several shots. The victim thought the shooter was firing at the other car, but is unsure.”

The car the victim was in was hit in the trunk. The round then went through the trunk and hit the victim in the upper leg and buttocks area. The bullet did not penetrate and only bruised the victim, the news release said. The victim was treated on scene and did not need to be transported.

The suspect vehicles fled. The victim and witnesses were unable to give a suspect description.
