Heber City Businesses Cleared After Gas Leak Forced Evacuations

HEBER CITY, Utah, June 29, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Wasatch County Fire Department cleared an order for an evacuation that affected several businesses in Heber City Tuesday night.

Police said they were called to the area of 500 N. Main just after 5 p.m. on a report of a gas leak.

Evacuations were conducted at the Smith’s Food and Drug, Great Clips, The UPS Store, Whimzy Lane boutique, a dance and karate studio and a Taco Time. Questar Gas and Heber City Public Works responded to investigate the problem.

No details have been provided about the leak but people were allowed back into the businesses a couple hours later.
