Herriman City warns of 2 recent cougar sightings, one near elementary school

HERRIMAN, Utah, Oct. 29, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Herriman City officials are warning residents of two recent cougar sightings, one near an elementary school.

One sighting was in Herriman Towne Center and the other near Foothills Elementary at 13717 Shaggy Peak Drive. The elementary school is directly south of Herriman Towne Center, and just over a mile away.

Herriman City shared the tips below for what to do if you encounter a cougar.

Anyone that sees a cougar is asked to call Herriman PD at 801-840-4000 or the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources at 801-538-4700.
