Couple Takes Police on Chase with Three Children in Car

HURRICANE, UTAH – June 20, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) Hurricane City Police were involved in a car and foot chase that included a couple and three of their children Saturday.

According to Sgt. Brandon Buell, Hurricane City Police attempted to make a traffic stop around 11 a.m. on a White Suburban for revoked registration on Coral Canyon Boulevard.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Jason N. Williams, fled from the officers at a high rate of speed before bailing from the SUV leaving a woman and three young chioldren behind. “The driver of the vehicle came to a stop then fled on foot north out of the area,” said Buell.

Buell mentioned officers from the Hurricane City Police Department, Washington City Police Department, and Washington County Sheriff’s Office all continued looking for the suspect and about an hour later officers were able to locate Williams on Foothills Canyon Drive and was taken into custody.

Williams has multiple felony warrants including a $20,000 cash warrant out of Lincoln County, Nevada.

He was been booked in the Washington County Jail for reckless driving, revoked registration, no insurance, speeding, evading, driving on an expired driver license, sex offender vehicle registration violation, and 4 outstanding warrants.

Crystal D. Williams, the adult female in the car, was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, endangering a child, and an outstanding warrant.

Officers say they located marijuana in her purse next to the children.

Department of Child and Family Services were contacted and have the children in their custody.
