WEST JORDAN, UTAH – APRIL 29, 2015 (Gehpardt Daily)  — The driver involved in a multi-vehicle crash this morning at the intersection of 9000 south and Bangerter Highway is still on the run and police say they have not been able to identify him.

The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday morning as a White GMC Sierra ran into another car at the intersection. The driver of the truck, which was stolen out of Riverton the night before, fled on foot and has not been found.

Sgt. Joe Monson of the West Jordan Police said that there were five cars involved, and a sixth vehicle who witnessed the accident.

Thankfully no one was seriously hurt. “There were a few broken bones but none of the injuries were life threatening,” said Monson.

Bangerter was closed eastbound and westbound for a time but the accident has since been cleared and all lanes are now open.

It is uncertain if the driver of the stolen vehicle was injured however they are asking for the public’s help in finding him. Sgt. Monson said it was still dark outside which made it easier for the suspect to get away but they are hoping someone may have seen him and will call.

If anyone has any information about the accident, or saw anyone running along Bangerter this morning in the area they are being asked to contact West Jordan Police at 801-840-4000.
