Holladay man in critical condition, family member being questioned

HOLLADAY, Utah, Oct. 1, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A Holladay man is in critical condition and police are investigating after being called out on an attempted suicide, then being alerted by the man’s family member that the harm to the victim might not be self-inflicted.

The Unified Police Department was summoned at about 7:30 a.m. Saturday on the medical call for a 53-year-old victim. While on route, officers received word of a second call to dispatch stating that the original caller might be responsible, in some way,  for the victim’s condition, according to a UPD news release.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The nature of his injuries was not disclosed. The family member who made the original call was detained for questioning. The investigation is ongoing.
