Homes evacuated in Roy after worker hit gas line

ROY, Utah, June 13, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Twelve to 14 homes were evacuated in Roy Tuesday afternoon after a contractor hit a natural gas line.

According to a spokesman for Dominion Energy, formerly known as Questar, the contractor hit a line near 3750 West and 5850 South.

The leak was reported at about 1:30 p.m. Evacuation was complete at about 3:15 p.m., and the leak was stopped at about 4 p.m.

No one was injured, and there were no fires or explosions. All residents were allowed back in their homes by 6 p.m.
