HUNTSVILLE, Utah, July 24, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials are warning residents to be on the lookout after a mountain lion was spotted twice in Huntsville.

The mountain lion was most recently spotted on Monday evening near the entrance to Cemetery Point, Weber County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release on Facebook.

“It appears to be a mature lion,” the news release said. “When deputies responded they were unable to see the lion but heard several growls. They took this as a warning and contacted Wildlife Resources.”

The lion was not located, but Utah Division of Wildlife Resources are in the area looking for the lion Tuesday.

“Please be cautious while in this area and be aware of your surroundings,” the news release said.

Anyone who sees the lion is asked to contact Weber Dispatch at 801-395-8221.
