HURRICANE, Utah, Nov. 4, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — The mayor of Hurricane has been charged with two counts of aiding orĀ assisting wildlife violation.

John Wayne Bramall, 59, is accused of letting two men without hunting licenses for the area hunt on his property. The two reportedly did have valid licenses for another area, but since they did not have licenses for the area Bramall’s land is in, the two deer killed were classified as poached.

The incident was discovered when authorities stopped and questioned the two men, identified as Gordon Wesley Marble, 58, and John Wesley Marble, 29, of West Point. The two were booked on suspicion of poaching a trophy-category deer (Gordon Marble) and wanton destruction of protected wildlife (John Marble). They were arrested on Oct. 22 and released on bail the next day. Formal charges are pending.

Bramall was booked on third-degree felony and class A misdemeanor charges. The more serious charge was for the trophy deer.

Bramall has served as Hurricane’s mayor since January 2014. His term ends in 2018.
