TOQUERVILLE, Utah, Oct. 16, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The burn was prescribed, but its planners didn’t predict the fire’s “enthusiasm.”
At about 3 p.m. today, Hurricane Valley Fire & Rescue was dispatched to a brush fire in the Anderson Junction area of Toquerville, its news release says.
“Upon receiving further information, it was determined that the fire originated from a prescribed burn that had gotten out of control,” the Hurricane Valley Fire statement says.
“Firefighters arrived on scene and quickly contained the fire, which had spread to roughly one-third of an acre. Units B41, B42, B43, BC42, and C42, along with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the incident.”
