KAYSVILLE, Utah, June 7, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) -- Southbound Interstate 15 traffic was blocked Saturday afternoon after a camper being hauled by a pickup truck caught fire near Kaysville.

The incident happened at about 12:26 p.m., Sgt. Mike Alexander, Utah Highway Patrol, told Gephardt Daily.

"They were traveling south, at about mile marker 326, when the driver noticed smoke coming out of the camper trailer," Alexander said.

"The driver pulled over, and by that time, there was already a fire going that spread from the trailer to the truck, so both were burning."

The driver and passenger, both in the pickup, escaped without injury, Alexander said.

"The freeway was shut down for a little bit while fire personnel took care of the fire," he said. "The freeway was opened after the fire was out."
