BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah, Nov. 14, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Department of Transportation is advising Northern Utah drivers to plan ahead for two overnight closures on Interstate 15 in Box Elder County this week.

I-15 will close in both directions at exit 372 in Honeyville on Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. each night for bridge demolition, according to a news release from UDOT.

While the bridge over I-15 is being demolished, UDOT will divert all I-15 traffic onto the off- and on-ramps at exit 372 in Honeyville, the news release said. Drivers will still be able to continue on I-15, but will need to plan for moderate delays and allow extra time to travel through the detour.

Motorists with time-sensitive travel should consider using alternate routes, such as parallel State Route 13, at either Elwood or Corinne, or via S.R.-38, at either Collinston or Brigham City. Intermittent lane closures on I-15 may take place through the remainder of the week.

In addition to the overnight I-15 closures, the S.R.-240 bridge over I-15 at exit 372, the Honeyville interchange, is now closed until April 2018. During this closure, the interstate ramps will remain open and vehicles wishing to cross east-west over I-15 will be detoured to the interchanges to the north, exit 376, Tremonton/Garland and south, exit 365, 900 North. Crews will demolish the existing bridge and construct a new bridge over the interstate.
