An 71-year old Woodruff, Utah man was killed Thursday in an early evening crash on Interstate 80.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, George Frazier was experiencing mechanical problems outside Coalville when the 2000 GMC Envoy he was driving was struck from behind by a pick-up truck.

Frazier, who investigators say was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from his vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene at short while later.

A woman passenger inside Frazier’s truck was critically injured in the crash and taken by ambulance to the University of Utah Medical Center. Troopers say her injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

The driver of the pick-up truck which rear ended Frazier’s vehicle was wearing a seatbelt. He was not seriously injured.
