SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, July 28, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Interstate 80 will be closed from Lambs Canyon to Jeremy Ranch overnight on both Tuesday and Wednesday as UDOT continues a project to add a truck lane in the area.

According to a map on the Utah Department of Transportation’s website, westbound I-80 will be closed from 8 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday from milepost 137 to 141. Eastbound I-80 will then be closed from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday in the same area for the project.

Drivers are being advised to to use I-84 through Ogden or U.S. Highway 40 to 189 through Provo Canyon as alternate routes.

The post on the website said UDOT the project will add a truck lane on westbound I-80 from Jeremy Ranch to Parleys Summit, and wildlife fencing will be completed in both directions within the project limits. A wildlife crossing will also be built near Parleys Summit.

“UDOT will also augment the fencing and new wildlife overpass by installing cattle guard at the Parleys Summit interchange,” the post said. “Additionally, crews will build a noise barrier near Jeremy Ranch to mitigate freeway noise for nearby residents.”

In coordination with this project, another crew will repave both directions of I-80 from Lambs Canyon to west of Kimball Junction this summer.
