UTAH COUNTY, Utah, Oct. 28, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Utah Highway Patrol said impairment is suspected in a crash on Interstate 15 Friday that left a 19-year-old woman in critical condition.

A silver hatchback driven by the woman was northbound on I-15 near mile marker 279 in Utah County at approximately 10:54 p.m., said a news release from the UHP.

“The driver drove off the road to the left and struck the concrete barrier in the center median,” the news release said. “The vehicle crossed all lanes, went off the road to the right and struck the concrete barrier.”

The female driver is still in critical condition as of Monday morning. She was unrestrained at the time of the crash.

“Troopers are investigating impairment as a factor in the crash,” the news release said. “A vape pen containing THC oil was found inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle.”
