SANDY, Utah, June 14, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews from Sandy City Fire Department responded to a report of an injured woman on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail on Friday night.

SCFD Battalion Chief Eric Larson said the woman was part of a group of bikers on the trail when she had an accident.

The extent of her injuries wasn’t clear, but Larson said he expected her to be OK.

“She was wearing the proper safety equipment and protective gear and is an experienced rider,” Larson told Gephardt Daily. “She was patched up, and they got her down in about 45 minutes.”

The woman was transported to the hospital by ground ambulance.

Larson said crews were already familiar with that section of the trail because “it’s kind of a hazardous area, and it’s an area we’ve trained on before.”
