FARMINGTON, Utah, Feb. 22, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — An inmate was stabbed over the weekend at Davis County Correctional Facility, officials said.
The man sustained non-life-threatening injuries, said a news release from Davis County Sheriff’s Office.
“Violence against persons is not something we take lightly, anywhere and everywhere it occurs,” said Sheriff Kelly V. Sparks. “Proper medical treatment and a swift recovery for the injured male are priorities to us. Equally important, is holding those responsible for this incident accountable and taking measures to prevent it or something similar from happening again.”
The name and age of the individual will not be released, officials said.
This incident is being investigated by Farmington Police Department and Davis County Correctional Facility, and will be reviewed by the Life Safety Committee.
