SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 23, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A jackknifed semi has closed northbound Interstate 15 at State Route 201/Interstate 80, and hazmat crews are on scene at 600 South I-15 northbound.
Officials are asking drivers to use northbound Interstate 215 as an alternative route.
According to a statement posted online by the Salt Lake City Fire Department the semi jackknifed and hit the median causing its fuel tanks to burst.
The driver was transported to University of Utah Trauma Center, according to the police scanner.
