VERNAL, Utah, Nov. 5, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A 15-year-old boy was killed Saturday after a Jeep rolled on a hill in Vernal, officials said.

A news release on Facebook from the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office said the crash occurred in the area of 5210 S. 4625 East, just east of the town of Jensen.

The news release said 15-year-old Conner Wall, of Jensen, died as a result of injuries sustained in the one-vehicle rollover.

“Wall was a passenger in a Jeep driven by a family friend at the time of the accident,” the news release said. “The Jeep was traveling across a side hill and turned to go towards the top of the hill when it overturned.”

The teen was ejected and was pinned under the vehicle, the news release said.

The driver and other family members were able to free the teen, prior to emergency crews’ arrival. Emergency crews then administered CPR to Wall until he was transported to Ashley Regional Medical Center in Vernal where he later died.

There is no indication that speed or impairment were factors in the accident; the investigation is still ongoing.

It’s not yet clear whether Wall was wearing a seatbelt.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information becomes available.
