Police: Suspect forced victim to rob Salt Lake City Jiffy Lube

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Jan. 4, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly forced a victim to rob a Salt Lake City Jiffy Lube Wednesday evening after threatening him with a handgun.

The incident occurred at the Jiffy Lube at 1577 S. Foothill Drive just after 7:10 p.m., the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release.

“A man walked up to a male victim, produced a handgun and ordered the male into the store to get the money,” the news release said. “Once the victim gave the man the money from the cash register, the suspect demanded the money from the safe.”

The suspect then fled the scene. He is described as Caucasian, between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and average build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a mask partially covering his face.
